Cryptography / Classic ciphers
Lesson 6 of 25
Encoding is not encryption
Base64 and hex just change how data is written. Anyone can reverse them without a key. They're for transport, not secrecy.
Key points
- Base64 often ends with =
- Hex uses 0-9 and a-f
- No key means no secrecy
import base64
print(base64.b64encode(b"Lazo")) # b'TGF6bw=='Quiz · +10 XP
